A lapsed philosopher, Peter Heft (B.A. in philosophy from Denison University, M.A. in philosophy from Duquesne University) is a student pursuing his PhD at the Centre for the Study for Theory and Criticism @ [University of Western Ontario] where his interests orbit the event horizon of accelerationism, time travel, and futurism/fascism/utopia. His current course of study follows questions of energeticism and materialism—the crux between the two being most fully explicated by Freud, Bataille, Deleuze and Guattari, and Land—with the aim of producing a genealogical account of so-called ‘libidinal materialism’ and impersonal desire as ontology undergirding both speculative realism and capitalism as process.
When he’s not reading or writing, Peter enjoys a good science fiction film, listening to music, or watching gas prices and nuclear proliferation while making snide and frustrated comments about geopolitics.
